What pixel pitch should I choose for indoor vs outdoor applications?

For indoor viewing distances under 3 m, choose P1.5–P2.0. For 3–6 m, P2.5–P3. For 6–10 m, P4–P6. Outdoor fixed installations typically use P4–P10 depending on viewing distance and brightness requirements. What is the difference between SMD and COB LED technology?

SMD (Surface-Mount Device) is the standard technology, cost-effective and widely used. COB (Chip-on-Board) packs LED chips closer together, delivering higher contrast, wider viewing angles, and no pixel-gap visibility — ideal for control rooms, broadcast studios, and premium indoor applications. HAFOND offers both in the X Series and FOC 960 Series.

What brightness level do I need for outdoor direct sunlight?

Outdoor displays in direct sunlight require minimum 5,000 nit; 6,000–8,000 nit is recommended for high-ambient-light environments. All HAFOND outdoor fixed series (FOC, FOE, OA, OB) meet IP65 rating for weather protection.

Can I use HAFOND rental cabinets for both indoor and outdoor events?

HAFOND rental series (RO PRO, ROD, ROA) are designed primarily for indoor and semi-outdoor event use. For full outdoor rental in direct sunlight, specify the outdoor rental series with appropriate brightness and IP rating at the time of quotation.

What viewing angle do HAFOND indoor displays provide?

HAFOND indoor SMD displays provide horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 140°–160°. COB series achieves 160°–175°. Specific values vary by product series and are listed on each product specification sheet.

Does HAFOND provide installation support?

Yes. We supply detailed installation drawings, wiring diagrams, and video guides with every order. Remote technical support via video call is included. On-site engineer dispatch is available for large projects at additional cost.

How do I calculate the number of cabinets for my screen size?

Divide your target screen width and height by the cabinet dimension. Example: for a 5.76 m × 3.84 m screen using 960 × 960 mm cabinets — width: 5760 ÷ 960 = 6 cabinets; height: 3840 ÷ 960 = 4 cabinets; total: 24 cabinets (22.1 m²). Our sales team provides layout drawings with every quotation.

What maintenance is required for an LED display?

Standard maintenance: inspect power connections every 6 months, clean cabinet vents annually, and replace modules if dead pixels exceed the acceptable threshold (typically 3 per module). HAFOND front-access cabinets allow module replacement without removing the entire panel, reducing maintenance time by up to 60%.

What control system and software does HAFOND support?

HAFOND displays are compatible with NovaStar, Colorlight, and Linsn control systems. We supply receiving cards and can pre-configure the system before shipment. Software for content management is included with the control system purchase.

Does HAFOND provide CE and RoHS certification?

Yes. All HAFOND LED display products exported to Europe carry CE and RoHS certification, meeting EU market entry requirements. Certification documents are available upon request for tender submissions.

Does HAFOND support project-based tender documentation?

Yes. For government and commercial tenders, HAFOND provides product datasheets, CE/RoHS certificates, company registration documents, reference project lists, and bank reference letters upon request.

Can HAFOND displays operate in high-temperature environments?

HAFOND outdoor series are rated for -20°C to +50°C operating temperature. For Middle East and high-temperature regions, we recommend models with enhanced thermal management and provide specific configuration recommendations upon request.

What is HAFOND’s standard warranty period?

HAFOND provides a 24-month warranty on all LED display products — double the industry standard of 12 months. The warranty covers manufacturing defects. Free repair or module replacement is provided; shipping costs are shared between HAFOND and the client.

Can HAFOND customize cabinet size, shape, or pixel pitch?

Yes. HAFOND operates in-house R&D and manufacturing. We support custom pixel pitch, non-standard cabinet dimensions, curved installations, corner screens, and creative shapes. Standard die-cast cabinet size is 640 × 480 mm; 960 × 960 mm and other formats are also available.

What is the standard lead time for a new order?

Standard products: 15–20 working days after order confirmation and deposit. Custom configurations: 25–35 working days. Rental series with stock: 7–10 working days. Exact lead time is confirmed in the proforma invoice.

What payment terms does HAFOND accept?

Standard terms: 30% deposit upon order confirmation, 70% balance before shipment. For established clients, L/C and other arrangements can be discussed. All transactions are in USD unless otherwise agreed.

Does HAFOND offer spare parts with every shipment?

Yes. Standard spare parts package includes 5–10% spare modules, power supplies, and receiving cards, depending on project size. Spare parts lists are itemized in the packing list.

What packaging and shipping method does HAFOND use?

Products are packed in custom plywood cases with foam protection. Standard shipping: sea freight (FOB Shenzhen). Air freight and DDP options available on request. Each case is labeled with product model, quantity, and weight for customs clearance.

What is the power consumption of an outdoor P5 LED display?

Typical average power consumption for outdoor P5 is 600–800 W/m² at maximum brightness. Actual consumption depends on brightness setting and content. HAFOND provides power calculations in every project quotation for electrical planning.
